Extreme outdoor adventure activities and sports do not come more exotic than those found in the beautiful and largely undiscovered (in terms of tourism) country of Kazakhstan. Comprising a territory of more than 2.7 million square kilometres, Kazakhstan is the world`s ninth largest country and is geographically larger than Western Europe. As might be expected of such a physically vast country, Kazakhstan includes just about every type of landscape imaginable from enormous rocky canyons and snow-capped mountains to flats, deserts and Taigas. Indeed, with a disproportionately small population of around 16.5 million and a relatively relaxed stance on religious freedom, Kazakhstan is a haven for outdoor adventure enthusiasts from all over the world.

One of the key sources of interest for extreme sports and outdoor adventure thrill seekers in Kazakhstan is the Celestial Mountain range, which is home to the 7,000 metres high marble peak of Kan Tengri. Hiking through this vast and magnificent mountain range is not merely a physically demanding experience – it is also of considerable spiritual value and, oddly, it also provides a number of opportunities to meet local people and nomads who live in this wondrous yet harsh terrain. Obviously, any trek through the Celestial Mountain range will require a solid, durable and comfortable pair of hiking boots (bring along an extra pair to be on the safe side). Furthermore, it hikers wish to tackle the Pobeda Peak at just under 7,500 metres, appropriate mountain climbing gear and equipment will be required and adrenaline seekers should expect an ice cold greeting at the snowy summit.

Camping out in the stunning Tyouk Kokpak canyon is also an adventure in itself, as hikers will be surrounded by untamed forests, the expansive Akkol Lake, steep mountain landscapes and variable weather systems. Fortunately for those who prefer to do more jaw-dropping sight-seeing than actual hiking, a helicopter ride will take tourists up to a base camp on South Inylchek Glacier at 4,000 metres. The helicopter ride is an exhilarating experience that transports outdoor adventure enthusiasts to one of the longest glaciers in the world. Indeed, amongst all of the breathtaking natural surroundings lies plenty of opportunities to enjoy a wide variety of outdoor adventure activities.

The mountains of Zailiskiy Alatau and the nearby Bolshoe Almatinskoe lake are also popular among extreme sports fans and outdoor adventure enthusiasts. Water based activities can be enjoyed in many places throughout Kazakhstan and Bolshoe Almatinskoe lake is certainly one of the more inspiring destinations. Nevertheless, the Kolsai Lakes are home to some of the most diverse water activities in Kazakhstan, with various pursuits including swimming, fishing (predominantly for trout) and, during the winter, ice skating available.

Kazakhstan is also of great appeal to those wanting to explore its mausoleums and ancient cities. As with any extreme outdoor adventure holiday, it is important to dress appropriately both in respect to cultural traditions and in order to maintain personal safety. Outdoor adventure enthusiasts should, therefore, buy roxy clothing for less demanding pursuits and proper adventure gear for difficult activities.

In years past, a serious physical disability meant unemployment, isolation, and inactivity for many thousands of people.

No longer. While the Americans with Disabilities Act has opened up the workplace and public facilities to people with disabilities, many organizations around the country have sprung up, offering access to sports programs both for wheelchair-bound individuals and amputees with artificial prosthetic devices. Disabled people are experiencing the joy of participating in Alpine and cross-country skiing, all kinds of water sports from swimming to sailing to scuba diving, and even more extreme sports such as mountain climbing and sky diving.

The importance of both competitive and recreational sports for individuals with disabilities can’t be overestimated. Particularly for formerly able-bodied people who find themselves disabled, sports can serve as a tremendous motivation in the rehabilitation process and can help alleviate the depression, confusion, and loss of self-esteem that often accompanies a debilitating injury. For those born with a serious disability, sports can serve as an important way of connecting to the “abled” world.

Competitive sports for the disabled are experiencing phenomenal success. The world-wide organization now known as the Paralympic Games was founded in Rome, Italy, in 1960, inspired by a 1948 competition organized in England for disabled World War II veterans. According to the Paralympic Games website, participating athletes compete in a variety of sports based on one of six disability-based classifications: amputee, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries, visual impairment, intellectual disability, and a general group including individual disabilities which do not fit into one of the other five categories.

Both summer and winter sports competitions give disabled athletes the change to compete in a variety of sports; the list of summer sports includes 21 different competitive sports, ranging from archery and cycling to equestrian, powerlifting and judo. Five competitions designed specifically for wheelchair-bound athletes include basketball, dancing, fencing, rugby, and tennis. The list of winter sports is smaller, but no less challenging: athletes can compete in either Alpine or Nordic skiing, ice sledge hockey, and wheelchair curling.

Children with physical disabilities have special challenges; they’re dealing with sometimes substantial limitations at the same time that they are meeting all the other demands of becoming competent, balanced, emotionally and mentally healthy human beings. The National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD) offers opportunities for children to take part in a wide range of sports activities, from skiing, ski racing, snowboarding and snowshoeing in the winter to rafting, horseback riding, and in-line skating in the summer.

The Paralympics and NSCD are only two of many organizations founded to involve disabled individuals in sports. It’s evident, from the success and increasing popularity of these organizations, that both adults and children with disabilities benefit greatly from participating in adaptive sports activities, and that the benefit extends to all aspects of their lives.

A Skydiving lesson in California is a great way to begin the sport. Skydiving is a very popular extreme sport it today’s society. The rush of jumping out of a plane and slowly floating to the earth in a peaceful surrounding is an urge many people cannot ignore. Skydiving lessons in California aren’t difficult to locate.

CalAdventures offers assistance with finding a skydiving lesson in California as well as other extreme sports like backpacking, dirt bike and ATV racing and riding, bungee jumping, and cave exploration.

One company offering skydiving lessons in California directly is Adrenaline Air Skydiving of Santa Rosa. All of their instructors are fully licensed by the Federal Aviation Administration and the United States Parachute Association. In addition to traditional skydiving lessons, they also offer tandem jumps, also known as jumping with a partner for people who are new to the sport, a full service training course for certifying jumpers which includes static line training, tandem transition or accelerated free fall methods, and solo free fall jumping for certified skydivers. In addition to the jump itself, you can get video and photos to remember the jump.

Adventure Center Skydiving also offers skydiving lessons in California. They advertise offering California’s highest tandem jumps. They take first time jumpers up to eighteen thousand feet and allow them to jump strapped to an instructor. Tandem jumping is a great way for novices to experience this extreme sport. First, you take about a half an hour of a skydiving lesson.

Then you put all of your gear on including a harness, goggles, and a jumpsuit. After that, it’s off to the plane for a fifteen minute ride up. You and your instructor leave the aircraft together for a one minute free fall and a five minute glide to the ground. The skydiving lesson is continued during the free fall as you learn to practice your landing and control your chute.

Another skydiving lesson in California can be taken at Air Adventures West. They offer accelerated free fall training. In this course, you spend approximately one day learning to jump. During the jump, two instructors stay with you, and yours stay in constant radio communication. You spend about one minute free falling during each jump. The extreme sport of skydiving has erupted with participants and companies willing to help. A skydiving lesson in California is easy to locate.

The number of extreme sports in Las Vegas, including skydiving has exploded in recent years. While they offer all of the standard extreme sports, skateboarding, BMX biking, and things like skydiving, they also have a chance to offer great sports like rock climbing, too, because of the nature of the area.

One extreme sport in Las Vegas is skateboarding. There are many skate parks in the area for enthusiasts of the sport to enjoy. Some of the parks are even open to other sports like roller blading and BMX biking. Moreover, several parks offer lessons to novice skateboarders that will help students to learn the sport effectively and be safe while playing.

Another way to experience extreme sports in Las Vegas is cycling in their canyons. Several companies offer a Red Rock Canyon bike tour that takes cyclists through one of the most beautiful locations in the United States. Most of the companies include all of the equipment necessary for the trip like the bike, safety gear, and water. While the trails are very, very rough, the ride is exhilarating.

Extreme sports in Las Vegas also includes some awesome rock climbing trips. The canyons in the area are incredible. Thirty minutes from the insanity of the strip with all of its overburdening society features are rock climbing areas that are unimaginably beautiful. Climbers can experience simply nature hikes or rough and tumble climbs that are difficult for even experienced climbers.

If climbing in the heat of the desert is not for you, you might also try the extreme sport of indoor rock climbing. There are several places in the city that offer rock walls. It’s a great way to try rock climbing before you get to more difficult stuff like the canyons outside the city.

Another version of extreme sports in Las Vegas is skydiving. There are many companies in the city that offer serious lessons and one day deals like tandem jumping. This gives people at all levels a chance to experience this extreme sport while in city of lights. You can also experience indoor skydiving with the help of one of several wind tunnels in the city. Nevada is an excellent place for a number of different activities. Las Vegas skydiving is becoming one of the most popular among other extreme sports.

Anyone that wants to skydive for the first time trying to became an experienced skydiver have to first understand the basic rules and all the risks that exist in skydiving. Doing it, the level of risks in this sport will be greatly reduced.

Like all extreme sports, this one has an age restriction too, set at 18 years. Not even a parent can’t sign documents in order for a minor to jump. 18 years or older, no exceptions here. In order to be 100% sure that your landing will not bring up any problems, you must weight not more than 250 pounds.

You need to be in good health even if skydiving is not very demanding from this point of view. If you can pull your chute line, you can skydive at it’s best, and this was never a problem for people.

Some teachers could let you do your first jump all alone if you want. Usually you can make your first jump after 5 to 6 hours of ground training. You can do your ground training and your first jump in the same day.

You should never wear clothes that will limit your moves, sandals or open toed shoes. You should always wear clothes you best feel in and running shoes. You can also bring with you glasses or contacts, the goggles you will be provided with, will fit over with no problem. Your skydiving jump will consist of 30 seconds of free fall and 30 second to land.

Most people feel the free falling like a great flying experience.

Even if skydiving as a sport, envolves risks, if you are good trained you can call skydiving a very safe sport because bad injures and death are unlikely.

You will just have to learn learn and learn all you can about this great extreme sport and you will do great. Discuss every aspect of this sport with your friends, family or any other experienced skydiver and you will grow in knowledge, you will develop your skills and in the same time you will be more secure of yourself.
